COROMANDEL OYSTERS
Sale Of First Crop Soon (N.Z. Pres, 'Association; HAMILTON, Sept. 11. The first oysters from the Marine Department’s experimental farm in the Coromandel Harbour are expected to be marketed in about five weeks. The district officer of the Marine Department in Auckland (Mr B. E. Turner) said today that the oysters growing in the 500 trays at Coromandel were showing promise.
The number of trays would be increased to 1000 soon. It had been found that two men could handle the work involved in looking after this number of trays and this helped to make the farm an economic proposition.
