St Leger To Ribero
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON. L. Piggott on Wednesday won the final classic of the English Flat season, the one mile and three-quarters St Leger at Doncaster, on Ribero. The Australian jockey, W. Williamson, on Canterbury failed by a nose to beat Ribero after a neck and neck struggle over the last 100 yards. Cold Storage was third. Ribero is owned by the American millionaire, Mr C. Engelhard, whose horses have won the St Leger three times. Ribero's full brother, Ribocco, won the raee last year for Mr Engelhard. It waa Piggott’s fourth win In the race.
