Cocktail Contest
A drink known as “Georgie Girl” won a cocktail-mixing contest in Auckland this week. Twenty-two barmen competed in the first contest of its kind in New Zealand. After a number of heats, the winner was Mr M. J. Petch, of the Lutece restaurant He explained later that “Georgie Girl” was made up of three parts gin, one part Spanish sweet sherry, and a dash of angostura. It is expected that Mr Petch will go forward to a New Zealand contest at a date yet to be decided.
