CORONER’S COURT Woman “Walked Into Path Of Car”

When the inquest into the. death of Joan Christiansen, aged 73, was concluded in the Coroner’s Court yesterday afternoon the Coroner (Mr A. T. Bell) found that she died in Colombo Street on June 8, the cause of death being severe head injuries suffered when she was struck by a car driven by Leon James Carter. Lorena Anne Murdoch, a telephonist, said in evidence that she saw Mrs Christiansen walk directly into the path of the car near the intersection of Colombo and Salisbury Streets. It was very dark at the time and the road was wet.
