LAST TO FIRST IN ONE YEAR
Amberley won the Cowlishaw Cup at the women’s inter-club foursomes golf tournament at Shirley yesterday for the first time since 1929.
This was a spectacular improvement on last year when Amberley finished last. Mesdames W. Ford and B. Erickson (Waimakariri Gorge) won the Pumphrey Cup for the best net score. Off a 20 handicap, they scored a net 73 after taking 11 on the sixteenth hole. Results:— Cowllshaw Cup
