Delayed Final Won By Laver
(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) BROOKLINE (Massachusetts) R. Laver used his service and variety of placement shots for a 64, 64, 9-7 victory over a fellow Australian, J. D. Newcombe, to win his second successive United States professional tennis championship and his fourth in five years, Associated Press reported. The final was originally scheduled for June 16 but was rained out. Laver dominated play and lost his service only once.
