Platings Changed In Maiden Event
Auto's Pride was relegated from first to second after an Inquiry Into the _ Lagmhor Maiden Stakes No. 3 at Ashburton yesterday. His rider, R. J. Skelton, was Charged with allowing Auto's Pride to shift ground over the concluding stages of the race causing interference to Flower Girl, which finished second. After, hearing evidence the Judicial committee found that Auto’s Pride shifted ground and caused interference to Flower Girl In spite of Skelton’s continued efforts to keep his mount straight. The committee promoted Flower Girl to first and relegated Auto's Pride to second but decided to take no action against Skelton, Flower Girl was sore on returning to the birdcage and was examined by tho club’s veterinary surgeon. Dowling said he had also been concerned for a time before the
race when Flower Girl wae showing some signs of soreness at tho barrier. Raced by her Omakau brooder. Mr F. J. Donnelly, Flower Girl was one of three winners ridden yesterday by J. R. Dowllnfc Flower Girl Is trained at Riccarton by D. J. Thlstoll, who prepared My Game to win the first maiden race at his Iret start.
