INDUSTRIAL HEALTH
Rare Strain Of Tuberculosis j (N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, Sept. 8. Concern over the increasing incidence of a rare strain of tuberculosis may result in greater emphasis on industrial health in general, an Auckland bacteriologist said today. Dr D. E. M. Taylor, head of the laboratory team at present investigating the increasing incidence of bovine tuberculosis and especially its association with the dairy industry, said today that it was likely that annual chestI X-rays for all freezing workers would be introduced to combat the disease. This could be expanded to include full medical tests; plus a blood test annually, I as a check on other stock illnesses transmissable to humans.
