Olympic medals

A finely detailed reproduction of the Aztec calendar will form the centre of the medals which will be at stake in the forthcoming Mexico City Olympic Games. AH medals are basically similar in design.

A gold one will be awarded to the winner of each competition, a silver one for second place and a gold plated beryllium bronze one for third. Those who fail to finish in the first three will also receive a medal. Theirs will be a plain beryllium bronze medal. Even the public will be able to get an Olympic medal. Commemorative medals of beryllium bronze are tn be sold to help defray expenses. Up to 30,000 are to be made of these. The picture at left shows the Olympic medal with the Aztec calendar which forms its centre.
