Long Ride Alone
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright > MOLA (Northern Italy). V. Adorni (Italy) won the men’s professional road race in the world cycling championships, at Mola. Adorni, who finished second in the 1964 world open road championship, took the lead at the second lap with seven other cyclists. The group dwindled slowly to four, and then left Adorni to race alone for more than 50 miles to win. Results: V. Adorni (Italy),- Time: 7:27:29, average speed 23.10 m.p.h., 1; H. van Springel (Belgium), 9:50 behind, 2; M. Dancelli (Italy) 3.
