COPPERMINE ISLAND

Application Adjourned (N.Z. Prest Association) AUCKLAND, Sept 2. An application by CRA Exploration Pty, Ltd, of Melbourne, for a mineral-pros-pecting licence for Coppermine and Whatupuke Islands, has been adjourned in the Auckland Mining Court until October 30. The warden of the court, Mr J. D. O’Brien, was informed that representatives of the Government and the applicant company were still working on conditions. These, which must be complied with before a licence can be granted, are aimed at preserving the scenic and ecological values on the islands, and were announced by the Minister of Lands (Mr Maclntyre) last month.
