2nd Class Players?

(From Our Own Reporter) WESTPORT.

The chairman, Mr W. A. Craddock, objected at a meeting of the Buller Rugby Union to the Canterbury B and Buller teams, who played the curtain-raiser to the North-South match at Lancaster Park on Saturday, being kept out of the usual social gathering.

He felt that it would be a good experience for younger players to meet the top men in New Zealand Rugby.

The players in the first game were entertained on the first floor while the North-South players and officials fraternised above.

Mr Craddock said that while the lower teams had not been entertained with others in the past, he saw no reason why it should not be done in the future. He would raise the matter at the next meeting of the New Zealand union’s council.
