While about 60 Americans died in combat in Vietnam during the three-day Labour Day Week-end, more than 10 times as many were killed in traffic accidents on United States highways. A total of 628 people died in road accidents during the last long holiday week-end of the summer, which began at 6 p.m. on Friday and ended at midnight on Monday.
