No Whitebait

Although the whitebait season opened officially on Sunday, there was no whitebait on the Christchurch market yesterday. A spokesman for P. Feron and Son, Ltd, attributed this to the lack of transport from the West Coast on Sunday. A small amount of Canterbury whitebait came onto the market and it will be sold today with the supply expected from the West Coast. Lucky Programme Mrs J.
