There was a good demand for vegetables at the Christchurch produce markets yesterday. The market was well supplied, but there was little change on prices of last week.

The first island water melons to arrive fetched 8c per lb. Gisborne oranges were also offered.

Tamarlllos, selling at up to 83.65 a case, were about 50c a case cheaper than those sold last week.
