I find it hand to give my favourite number, so perhaps a short list of favourites will serve. Some of these hilarities are extremely simple and economical. I recall April Olrich as a dainty little Jaoanese lady in kimono, tripping onto the stage, looking at her watch, then trebling her speed; of the same lady in sylphides costume and points having to exchange the rose on her bosom for a bicycle pump. This brings me to Kendrew Lascelles, who seems to me beyond question the most gifted comedian to visit New Zealand for many years. He has the right sadness on him.
