Spedding Ahead Of Budget

AUCKLAND, Sept. 2.
The turnover of Spedding Consolidated, Ltd, the Auckland merchant and shipping agent, had been very satisfactory in the first four months of the current year, the chairman (Mr F. H. Reynolds) told the annual meeting. Most divisions showed an increase in sales, he said. The only one in which sales had been disappointing was building materials, which were seriously affected by the economic position. Forward sales in other departments exceeded budget figures. The general economic atmosphere was now much improved, with more optimism in most trading activities.
