New Coach Appointed
Mr D. Inkster, formerly of Christchurch, has been appointed by the Waimairi County Council as professional swimming coach at the Jellie Park swimming pool. He succeeds Mr C. C. McFadden, whd is now coaching at Palmerston North. Mr Inkster, who was educated at Linwood High School, has been coaching professionally in Auckland for the last four years. He was trained by the noted coach, Mr M. A. Doidge, and, after serving a period as an assistant, coached at the Papatoetoe pool. He made a good impression in Auckland and was highly regarded for his work with handicapped children. Mr Inkster will take up his appointment when the pool opens on October 26, but he will arrive in Christchurch about two weeks before this to make arrangements for the season.
