Dragons Win Ice Hockey

Dragons beat Pirates 7-5 tn a scrappy ice hockey match at the Centaurus rink last evening Dragons dominated the game. Near the end of the firstquarter R. Cooper (Pirates), was sent to the penalty box for two minutes when he illegally checked a Dragons player. Dragons goal-shooting is improving with every game. R Moore (Dragons), played soundly in goal and made some excellent saves.

Pirates attacked and after only a minute R. Cooper goaled. Then B. Guy evened the score. Guy, several minutes later, made a break and with a hard shot put Dragons ahead. Just before the end of the first-quarter F. Ford (Dragons) scored a lucky goal when the puck rolled slowly between the pads of the unfortunate Pirates goal-keeper, C. Robinson.

After half-time, with the score 4-2 to Dragons, the Dragons forwards took control. S. Hurd and Guy (Dragons) combined well throughout. Dragons retained the lead for the rest of the game keeping at least two goals ahead. Scorers: Dragons 7 (B. Guy 4, F. Ford, S. Hurd, J. Begej), Pirates 5 (R. Cooper 2, P. Willman 2, A. Catlin). Umpires: Messrs B. Lester and S. Waiters.
