FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT

Situation. —An anticyclone covers northern New Zealand. A frontal zone is almost stationary over the south of the South Island. Forecast:

Marlborough and Nelson.—Light or moderate westerly winds; fine, apart from a few showers in the western ranges of Nelson; moderate temperatures.

Canterbury.—Moderate variable winds; some cloudy areas and isolated light showers; cool.

Buller and Westland. Eight, winds; cloudy, with scattered showers; moderate temperatures.

Outlook.—showers in the west, fair elsewhere. CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
