Obituary MR R. ELLIOTT
Mr Robert Elliott, a wellknown Wellington ear, nose and throat surgeon who gave long service to the Regular and Territorial Forces, died on Friday. Mr Elliott sailed as a lieutenant with the First Echelon from New Zealand in January, 1940, serving in the Middle East, and in 1944 being promoted Colonel and appointed Assistant Director of Medical Services, 2nd New Zealand Division. In 1947 Mr Elliott became Assistant Director of Medical Services in the Central Military District. Mr Elliott was also active in the New Zealand branch of the British Medical Association and held the position of honorary general secretary for four years. He is survived by his widow and four children.
