Mr P. E. Ashcroft was appointed health inspector by the Akaroa County Council on Friday. He will replace Mr A. J. Kiley, who has accepted another appointment. The inspector is a Health Department employee seconded to I the Akaroa and other locall bodies. Mr B. Burrell, president of the Christchurch branch of the Youth Hostels Association of New Zealand, has been
transferred to Wellington. Mr M. Ireland, the association representative on the Mountain Safety Council, will act as president until the next annual meeting. Mr A. E. Bockett, who is ! retiring as a member of the i Waterfront Industry Commission, has been appointed an ! independent member, and deputy chairman, of the Waterfront Conference, an ■ advisory body for the indusi’try.
