Record Time In Road Race
(N Z Press Association) TIMARU. M. Poulton (Christchurch) showed fitness and determination in winning the annual Temuka-Timaru harrier road race oyer 11 miles on Saturday. From a handicap of llmin 30sec, Poulton ran the journey in 62min 49sec. The fastest time went to the New Zealand junior half-mile record-holder. R. J. Tayler (Ariki, Dunedin), who set a new race record of 55min 9sec, 15sec faster than the record set last year by J. Power (Timaru). Tayler ran from a 30sec hand) cap. Major Placings M.
