Valuable Purchase
RELIEVED to be the highpriced Aberdeen Angus bull to come to the South Island this year, this is rising five-year-old Procter Pavo of Totaranui, which has been purchased for a substantial four-figure price by Beachcroft Stud, Ltd, of Southbridge.
Procter Pavo, which is now at Southbridge, is by Procter of Westdrums (imported) out ot Totaranui 130. He is from the Totaranui stud of Mr L. N. Hoggard, at Pahiatua. This bull was the winner of most points for Mr Hoggard in the “Sire of the Year” contest, which the northern breed-
er won. The contest is for the sire whose progeny gains most points at agricultural and pastoral association shows throughout New Zealand each year and Procter was not beaten at a show last season, although he once dead-heated with a half-sister.
