THE BUTTERFLY-COD (Pterois volitans) is a fish of rare beauty of colour and movement and is a prominent member of the spectacular underwater marine life of the Great Barrier Reef. The picture is from Keith Gillett’s “The Australian Great Barrier Reef In Colour.” For nearly 20 years Mr Gillett has specialised in the study and photography of the reef and its fauna. His pictures and accompanying text bear witness to his knowledge and skill. The book Includes an amazing collection of colourful coral, anemones, starfish, shells, fish, birds, turtles, and unattractive things such as sea-snakes and marine worms. The book is published by A. H. and A. W. Reed.
