Installation In Squall
Shifting boards are to be fitted in the Canterbury Steam Shipping Company’s 817-ton motor vessel Squall,, which is to enter the bulk wheat coastal trade after her overhaul at Lyttelton. The company’s Calm has already been fitted for wheat carriage, and the Storm will be the only ship remaining in the firm’s long-established coastal service in general cargo.
The company’s managing director (Mr C. H. Crombie) said yesterday that the Squall’s first bulk-wheat cargo would probably be loaded for Wellington at the new Lyttelton silo early in September.
