Apple Peel Of 43ft

MASTERTON, August 30. A New Zealand-wide “peeloff” was won today by Captain H. P. Davis, of the Whatman Children’s Home in Masterton.
Captain Davis was taking part in an apple-peeling contest—which he won with a peel of 43ft siin- He peeled a large Granny Smith apple with a knife.
The runner-up made a peel of 35ft,
Captain Davis has woo a holiday for two anywhere in New Zealand with accommodation, travel, and $7O spending money. The second prize was $5O, and the third prize $25. There were 15 consolation prizes Of 401 b cases of apples.
