Dogs In Darfield
Sir, —As a Darfield ratepayer I wonder why the Malvern County Council bothers making by-laws if it is not going to enforce them. Within 150 yards of our section there are at least five dogs which roam the streets day and night and never see a collar and chain. These are only some of those roaming the streets. It is not worth trying to grow a garden these days. As for the dosing strip, it is a farce. Township dogs are never taken. It is time we had some action from the men responsible. Yours, etc., FED-UP RATEPAYER. August 22, 1968.
[The Malvern County Clerk (Mr B. W. Perrin) replies: “It is not the policy of the
Malvern County Council to reply to anonymous correspondents through the newspaper, but if your correspondent cares to lodge a complaint at the county office, the matter will be fully investigated.”]
