DEODATUS CASE
Appeal Hearing In September
An appeal has been lodged with the New Zealand Trotting Conference by Mr K. A. Brophy, of Timaru, against three years disqualification imposed on his mare, Deodatus. The appeal will be heard in Christchurch on Wednesday, September 11. Deodatus returned a positive swab after winning the Conference Handicap at the Canterbury Park Trotting Club’s meeting at Addington Raceway on May 25.
At an' inquiry held earlier in the month Pleasant Point trainer. J. J. Brophy, was disqualified for three years and fined $2OO. Deodatus was disqualified from the race and also disqualified for three years.
