Snow reports supplied yesterday by the Canterbury Ski Association are:—
Cralgieburn Valley.—Light fall of snow yesterday, more snow than last week; skiable level 3800 ft; all tows working. Road open to bottom tow. chains not necessary. Temple Basin.— Light fall of snow yesterday; more snow kst week: skiable level Sad Oft. Tows are working. Windwhistle.— Light fall of snow yesterday; more snow week; skiable level 4000 ft. Tows working. Ere who n.—No snow since last report; skiable level 4000 ft. Tows are working and road open.
Coronet Peak.— No snow since last report; skiable level 3700 ft. Ski-ing conditions good. All tows and chair-lifts working. Amurl,—Less snow than last week; skiable level 4000 ft. Tows are working, road open to huts. Lake Ohau.— No snow since last report; less snow than last week; skiable level 4000 ft. Tows are working. Broken River Basin.— No •now since last report; skiable level 3800 ft. Tows are working, road open.
Mount Cheeseman.— Light falls of snow yesterday: more snow than last week; skiable level 3300 ft. Tows are working.
Chess by Wire.—The Auckland Chess Centre will play the Otago Chess Club for the Bledisloe Cup on Saturday by means of a morse key. The match will determine the national club champion in New Zealand. *
