UNDER-14 SOCCER
Canterbury Wins Title (N.Z. Press Association) NELSON. Canterbury won every game to take the South Island un-der-14 soccer title at Nelson. Canterbury also won the major-association trophy. Nelson could not match Canterbury’s strong play yesterday and lost, 1-4.
There was an upset yesterday morning when South Canterbury held Otago to a draw. The improving West Coast gained another win, at the expense of Southland.
Results: South Canterbury 2 Otago 2; North Otago 2, Marlborough 1; West Coast 2. Southland 1; Canterbury 4. Nelson 1. The South Island under-14 team, announced last night is: R. D. Dutton (Otago), D.
