MISSION TO S. AMERICA
Salesman For . N.Z.-MadeToys
A Christchurch salesman will spend about two months travelling through South America and Central America with a suitcase full of brightly-coloured pieces of plastic.
His bag of tricks will be simple, yet ingenious plastic strips, wheels, angles, and the like.
The salesman is the marketing research manager of Torro International mathematical visual aids, Mr B. L. Sanchez, a Spaniard who lives in Christchurch. In the Latin American countries he will show the fancy-coloured pieces of plastic in his suitcase. Mr Sanchez, who will leave Christchurch on September 21, considers that Latin America has a big potential for the New Zealand-made mathematical visual aid system made from plastic interlocking pieces. Mr Sanchez speaks Spanish and Portuguese, which will enable him to explain how the educational toy works. He will test the market for the visual aids and toys in Mexico, Panama, Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Venezuela, and Chile.
