Maternity Bookings
Because of the. limitations of Essex Hospital, the North Canterbury Hospital Board at its meeting yesterday decided to run it and St Helens Hospital as a single unit, but with deliveries at both hospitals. There will be a single list of bookings kept for the two hospitals, the total number of private doctors’ cases remaining as at present The medical supefintend-ent-in-chief (Dr L. M. Berry) made it clear that patients would be allowed to state a preference as to which hospital they preferred, according to their requirements. It was repotted that all expected abnormalities would be delivered at St Helens.
