CALL FOR INQUIRY
Place Of T.A.B. In Racing
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The national council of the T.A.B. Agents Association is to be asked to press further for a commission of inquiry into all facets of the racing industry in relation to the T.A.B The fifteenth Dominion con ference of the association this afternoon adopted a remit to this effect. A similar remit was carried last year. The association also decided to ask the T.A.B. to make a survey of tickets sold on Wednesdays for Friday meetings. It wants to end selling unless Wednesday is a race day.
Setback For Red Siren
"The Press" Special Service INVERCARGILL. Red Siren has suffered a slight setback in his preparation for th? Melbourne Cun. The Red Mars gelding was to have raced at Gore on Saturday, but fnlured his leg slightly recently and has missed a little work. He has not been nominated at the Otago Hunt meeting and will probably resume at the Southland meeting next month. Red Siren’s owner, Mr D. G._ Boniface, is still enthusiastic about the Australian trip.
