Autocrat, Mason Bros Lead Firm Trading
Rises outnumbered falls by three to one as the New Zealand sharemarket continued its firm trend yesterday. The range of issues was narrower than on Tuesday but turnovers were higher. The overseas list was strong.
Mason Brothers rose 10c to 85c during the day in steady trading. Two weeks ago, the share was 64e, or 36c below the par value. Autocrat rose 10c to 120 c, while other strong gains were made by N.Z. Farmers’ Fer-
tilizer, up 10c to 295 c; and R. W. Saunders, up 7c to 195 c. Insurance companies finished the <Jay unchanged, although trading in South British began 5c lower at 485 c before improving to 490 c.
