LINCOLN HALLS
Date For Tenders
Tenders will close on September 11 for the two residential halls at Lincoln College. Each will house 84 students. One will be a Colombo Plan hall and the other a college hall. An old wool shed had been demolished to clear the site.
A new college post office is almost ready for use at the base of the new Hilgendorf teaching wing. It will open about September I. The Ministry of Works in Wellington is studying modifications to Ivey Hall and the old laboratory block to make them more earthquake resistant.
Plans are being prepared for a new parking area for 200 cars in the former orchard behind the short-course building. It will be ready for use next year.
The Lincoln College Council expressed satisfaction at this progress yesterday morning.
