Affects 3600 Properties
Up to 1850 properties will be wholly affected and 1800odd will suffer partial loss under plans approved by the Christchurch Regional Planning Authority yesterday for an up-grading of metropolitan Christchurch roads into the 19905. Between now and 1970. 150 properties will be wholly taken for motorways, with 50 needed for other roada and up to 300 partially affected, or frontages taken. Between 1970 and 1975, 250 properties will go to motorways, with another 100 for other roads, and 400 will be partially affected. From 1975 to 1980, motorways will take 450 properties, other roads 50, and 400 more will be partially affected. The 1980-85 period requires up to 400 properties for motorways, 100 for other roads, and 500 will be partly affected.
In the post 1990 period, completion of the motorways will need 250 properties, other roada taking 50 and partially affecting 200.
