$3m MOTEL PLANNED

WELLINGTON. Aug. 27. A 250-unit, s3m motel is planned by a Wellington businessman, Mr A. S. Cornish. on the present site of the Wellington Bowling Club in Arc Street Mr Cornish has sold the airspace above the Wellington City Council’s parking building on The Terrace to White Heron Lodge, Ltd, Kilbirnie. , An 11-storey, 400-bed hotel is to be built on the site. This morning Mr Cornish said the plans for the Terrace site were a “wonderful thing” for the Wellington and New Zealand tourist trade. But he said there was still a need for a large motel to cater for the average family tourist.
