WRAPPING RESUMED
(N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Aug. 27. The coating and wrapping of pipe for Kapuni natural gas has resumed, three weeks after the Ministry of Works suspended the work because certain materials did not comply with the specifications. Mr P. G. Armstrong, project manager for the contractors, McConnell Dowell, Ltd, said today that 49 pipes were wrapped yesterday in a preliminary trial. Work would continue tomorrow and increase to full production as soon as possible. Negotiations between the company and the Ministry were held in Wellington last week. A primer material had been modified to comply with specifications.
