Complaints To C.A.R.P.

AUCKLAND, Aug. 26.
Letter* and telephone complaints about price increases on goods ranging from school books to meat extracts, polishes, detergents and cat’s meat were being received by the Campaign Against Rising Prices, the president (Mrs F. M. Humphries) said tonight.
The association had received numerous letters and telephone calls about the increases in the cost of school stationery, such as ruled script blocks, which rose from 15c to 19c, and hard-cover notebooks, which increased from 36c to 40c, she said. > Detergents had risen by 2c or 3c and a metal polish had risen by 2c, said Mrs Humphries.
