Pope Returns To Rome

ROME, Aug. 26.
Pope Paul declared in Rome yesterday on his return from Colombia that the International Eucharistic Congress he had attended in Bogota would increase understanding between peoples and countries.
“The Congress cannot help but bring the most desirable results for the good of souls, for mutual understanding between peoples, for international co-operation,” he said.
The Pope’s face looked sunburned and less drawn than when he left, but he walked slowly, as if tired after his journey, the first Papal visit to Latin America.
Floods In Japan.—Five hundred homes were flooded in Western Japan today when heavy rains caused landslides and disrupted rail and road traffic. One man was killed when his house was crushed by a landslide.—Tokyo, August 26,
