FORMER TITLE-HOLDER RETURNS.—Six times New Zealand women’s singles champion, Mrs N. Traill (Northland), who has come out of semiretirement this season, stretches to play a backhand return during the annual inter-island table tennis contest at Cowles Stadium on Saturday evening. Mrs Traill played solidly to win both her singles. The North Island won the men’s matches, 7-5, and the women’s, 10-2.
