Turner’s Big Week-end
fN.X.PA. Staff Correspondent) LONDON. Last week-end was a memorable one for the 21-year-old Otago batsman, G. N. Turner. He made his first century In English county cricket, for Worcestershire against Middlesex, topped 1000 runs for the season, and was awarded his county cap by the skipper, T. W. Graveney.
Early in the season, Turner was used in various positions in the Worcester batting line-up but in recent games has consolidated his place as an opening batsman. He has gained a reputation as a solid rather than a dashing batsman.
