Chairman Confident League Will Pay

The chairman of the Canterbury Football Association (Mr T. C. Gottermeyer) told a meeting of the management committee last evening that he was confident the financial structure of the southern league would improve next year.

He was replying to a question from Mr N. R. Dixon, who wanted to know when Mr Gottermeyer expected the southern league to show a profit. “We said at Hie beginning of our planning for the league that we expected to make a loss over the first year or so,” Mr Gottermeyer said.
