Seddon Shield Boys’ Rugby
(N.Z. Press Association) NELSON. The Seddon Shield district primary schools’ Rugby tournament opened in Motueka yesterday when Nelson beat Marlborough, 9-3. and West Coast beat Buller, 12-8.
About 100 players are taking part in the tournament, which will end on Friday. Districts represented are Buller. Golden Bay-Motueka, Marlborough, Nelson and the West Coast.
Soccer Drawn.—The Taranaki soccer team was unlucky to draw 2-2 with New Zealand Universities at New Plymouth yesterday. Universities, although competent and polished in midfield, was well contained by Taranaki.
