Farewell Function
Lieutenant-Colonel F. W. Hay, of the Salvation Army, who has been patriotic welfare officer of the Christchurch and Rlccarton branches of the New Zealand Homeservicemen’s Association for the last 14 years, was bidden farewell recently. The function marked his promotion and transfer to Wellington. Several years ago Lieutenant-Colonel Hay received honorary membership of the association and an award of merit was conferred on him in appreciation of his work. Mr D. A. Macgregor, president of the two branches, paid tribute to Lieutenant-Colonel Hay and Mrs Hay for their friendship and assistance to members in need, and presented them with a gift from the members.
