NET LOSS IN JUNE
Population Statistics (N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 9. Only two Governmentassisted immigrants entered New Zealand in June, compared with 404 in June, 1967, and in June this year 2599 people left New Zealand permanently. Immigrants intending to ■stop permanently totalled 1346, making a net loss for the month of 1253, the Government Statistician (Mr J. V. T. Baker) said in a report released today. The number of tourists rose by 143 to 4131, and working holidaymakers’ numbers fell by 431 to 364 compared with the previous June.
Arrivals and departures for the month were 15,108 and 18,499 respectively, against 15,918 and 18,543 last June.
