Message Of Sympathy

WELLINGTON, August 9.
The Queen has sent a message of sympathy to the captain and crew of the Gothic and to the relatives of the seven people who lost their lives aboard the freighter. The message was in a letter from one of her Majesty’s private secretaries to Mr W. Russell, chairman of directors of the shipping line. The letter said the Queen well remembered the very happy months which she spent aboard the Gothic. The vessel was used as the Royal y;.cht during the Royal tour of Australia and New Zealand in 1953-54.
