Freezing Award
Freezing workers’ unions would meet the employers to negotiate for a new award, said the general secretary of the . New Zealand Freezing Workers’ Association (Mr F. E. McNulty). The present award would expire in November.
Mr McNulty said that the ceiling imposed in the recent general wage order had cut down the incentive for freezing works piece-workers. This problem would most likely be taken into consideration when wages were discussed for the new award. Mr McNulty said that the ceilings affected the freezing industry more than any other.
