Double World Flight Plan

The Jules Verne hero, Phileas Fogg, travelled round the world in 80 days. Mr E. H. Bartlett, a travel writer on the “Toronto Telegram,” hopes to do the trip twice in six days 23 hours 15 minutes, of which four days 15 hours five minutes will be spent in the air.

Mr Bartlett will leave Nassau for Sydney via Mexico and Tahiti on August 10, and go on to London via Singapore, Colombo and Rome. After 26 hours in London, he will return to Sydney via New York, San Francisco, Honolulu and Fiji. He expects to finish the first circuit on August 16, and will immediately set out on his second circuit via Manila, Hong Kong, Delhi, Athens, London and back to Nassau, by the evening of August 17. The two circuits will involve 51,000 miles in the air, all in Qantas 707 jets.
